Finally got a bench assigned to me and the keys to it, today. I have to go in on Saturday to work on my first assignment which I've made some decent progress on at least. It was nice to spend the day at the school, went by oh SO fast though.

I'm not the only one repeating the class however, there's three others on the sign in who were in my "level" as it were and all three of them have barely showed up for lecture, one not at all, which I wonder about. Another girl commutes from out of town, ok, and the third is a fucking space cadet.

She gets her bench keys like me, and not half an hour after "I have so much work to do" she spends an hour washing down her bench and noodling around. She has some issues, and thats fine, and good and all but its maddening to watch her lack of focus.

I had managed to simply get torch tips on loan so if I had to bounce between benches at least I could solder, and I guess they took that as a sign I was serious about wanting to get down to work. I have to solder side plates on this ring ( its a hollow box form) and then file and finish it. I should be able to get most of that done saturday.

Sunday is Word On the Street, and we have copies of my books ready. Yay. Hope we sell a few. The weather is definitely getting cooler, and hopefully it'll be nice enough sunday.

R just bathed Stirling, and while my mom was "he loves his baths", he howled this time, and R suspects he erred on the side of "water a bit too cool". I have to organize his clothes this week, pull the too small stuff, and move in the next sizes of some things. Sort of. Baby clothing sizes are just as erratic as adult. We have some stuff labelled 3m that he's never been able to fit, and some he swims in.

Most of the stuff we buy is on clearance/sale anyway so i don't stress too much about it. He's creeping in to his 3-6 month stuff and some of that will fit him till he's at the end of the 6m period anyway. Should be ok for winter weight gear for the trip, and hell if we have to do some shopping there, that's fine. He's got jackets and blankets and layers.

My hands and hip and back are still hurting, though the hip joint is better, the back better, the hands AGONY. Seriously. They were getting better then I slam through a day at the studio. Argh.

Bought some cabochon stones for pendants and rings to make for next Dcon. They'll be in the 75-100 buck range but they're real stones, and real silver, and made by me, not imported cheap crap. Will also do 20-30 etched cuffs in brass, and probably some pendants too.

Tomorrow, go get groceries, go to the bank, walk the baby somewhere, and probably try to get some work done on the books that I had to stop writing for a bit.
