So i was reading up on one of the locales we're considering moving to, and the page describes a new rec center/pool already built. Looks awesome. ( part of a gobsmackingly HUGE reinvestment in development there.)

and my first thought was "they built a pool! with water!"

See, turns out the dumbassery that is halifax, a suburban pool/rec center/firehall was built but turns out they are having major issues with getting municipal water hookup and KNEW this would be an issue before ground was broke on it.

( oh, and our much lauded sewage treatment plant? it died less than a month in to operations. We're back to sewage direct in the harbor.Oh, and a possible fire rescue boat that they were testing, sank on a trial run almost killing 11.)

I swear, we're living in a city run by crack addled squirrels.

( vancouver is in our top three to permanently relocate but the cost of buying a home of any kind is a big issue.)

Hurricane season is here. Apparently there's a tropical storm that's going to pass pretty close tuesday night ( christobal)

The last tropical storm passed by a good ways away, and knocked our power out for 6 hours, so I think we'll get some flashlights and prep a bit more for this one. i'd rather be ready and have nothing happen. We already have a gallon of water because there's some water interruptions during construction. At least we can water the dog then.
