This parenting gig isn't going too bad. I'm still recovering, that'll take another couple months to feel really normal again.

I'm getting the "advices" from some corners, and people asking if I'm breastfeeding or if it was a natural birth...like whoa, its really not yours to ask, yes I did share the tale of his birth, but why the obsession over Natural Birth!? Mine was hard peaking contractions from GO, let me sing you the song of a really intense birth but we're both healthy and alive so stuff your "natural". I love me some epidural. That was heaven.

I haven't gotten any direct stick over not breastfeeding, but I know, some probably sit in silent ( wisely) judgement. I lost 56lbs. I was told towards the end of the pregnancy I may not be able to breastfeed due to the extreme weight loss and lo, the milk she did not ever come in. Nada. Zipidy do dah zilch o rama. So we went "ok" and without hesitation, formula and he's growing and thriving and what will be, will be. I didn't have any regrets. It isn't a source of angst. It just IS. People who ask, I tell them but they don't press the subject further, wisely. Perhaps its my tone.

Then the "are you allowed to take him out so young?" well, we can't very well live housebound for a predetermined set of time that makes you happy. he likes the stroller and so long as no one's sneezing and coughing over him, I'm not worried.

So far, we're doing alright. I am not bothered by the decisions and how things had to go, due to c sec recovery and what else. I don't care if someone thinks I'm doing it wrong, Stirling has his own likes and dislikes and personality and one thing I've learned from this is "plans? yeah right." I can hope for things, but in the end, its not mine to control.

I am amazed I walked so much today, three weeks ago I could not get out of bed, and 2 months ago, walking a block was not possible. Recovery ahoy. It feels good. It'll be even better in another three weeks, three months. C sections really suck. It was nessesary, but man, they suck hard after you've labored all day and you're exhausted and THEN get cut open. I've heard planned ones go much easier recovery wise. Ah well. Not like I'm doing this again. Fuck no.
