So I emailed a couple resumes on monday, to places looking for low key retail gigs and seasonal work. I know I'm fortunate that I don't have a pressing critical urge for steady paid work, but sometimes getting hired on at christmas is enough time for them to make you indispensable by january.
I really only wanted part time. Strictly so. I have my own business to tend to, and it's starting to get busy there as well as a commission. But part time jobs with me have this tendency to suddenly become life consuming 60 hour work weeks and I have no need of that.
while my business does bring in dollars, its still growing pains time, and I do need a secondary stable cash thing to sock money away for the crazytravels next year.
I don't want to do cashiering. I don't want to be a sales clerk. Let me do grunt work in the stock room and I'll be happy. I'm not looking for a lifelong commitment. I just want a casual job relationship.
I'm not overly bothered if they dont hire, there's loads of other jobs listed and i'm awesome and everyone who hires me winds up singing the praises of my awesome and how I saved the company's arse on many occasions.
Went out and got dress pants and a shirt for interviews. I've lost weight, but wow stuff is really unflattering. pants with weird bulgey spaces I could pack a lunch in the crotch, droopy sagging tops, one shirt that looked like it'd been sewn by someone drunk. It was either cheap trashy wear or on the other side: frump city. Gads.
Here's hoping for the job so I am not rockin the ramen diet in amsterdam.
