Nov. 18th, 2013 02:44 amIn my ranting:
I want vampires that are more than angsty and rich and powerful or more than simply aspiring to ALL THE POWERS. I want heroines and sidekicks that are more than insipid lackeys under the spell of said vamp. I want old school vamps that go kerpoof in the day.
Erotica: I like a plot. I like scenes that are written maturely and coherently and not teehee/euphemism laden biological impossibilities. I want kink written intelligently, not the 50 shades style of bully-dom and naive nebbish lass in need of forced boundary exploration.
I wrote non angsty, non rich vamps that go kerpoof in day, they don't aspire to be some kind of ultra powerful madman. Their friends are people with their OWN ability to function.
I write erotica that is, I think, consentual, fun, more playful and intense and not this wierd imbalanced power structure. The sub has as much, maybe more control, they're not a sack of ham or a real doll to simply tolerate your abuses. Embrace what they want and need and it just works.
I want safe words and slip ups and apologies and aftercare.I wanted a sub that went with this eagerly but held her boundaries and wasn't mistreated.
Its not so much to ask for a plot, and not this toyed drag out manipulation, or the sheer abusey ick of 50 shades which is now THE template by which all others must write to.
It does irk that I'll probably never see the sales the likes of simply churning out to the template already established but at least my erotica doesn't make you feel icky at the end. And the vamps don't effing sparkle.
( I think some of these erotica romance writers really outta start trying some of what they're attempting to put their characters through hahahaha.)
