Nov. 9th, 2013 04:30 amThe newish, new to me Ghost and Writer album is crazygood. Like burned into my brain obsessive good.
I'd listen to that singer recite a menu, or a phone book. Keep talkin pretty boy.
Downside, they broke up after that album.
Upside: he sings in multiple projects and they're all good too. ( seabound, edge of dawn and I think a couple others.)
I like CXS but mostly the older stuff since Rogue hit this weird patch of the last albums sounding identical and doing mostly mythology based feel -good anthem stuff. I know he's better than that and it frustrates me. I want to like their work now, but i just dont.
Dig G&W/Seabound/EOD's tendency to really creepy, cool, film noir lyrics. I don't need a steady diet of formulaic anthem-rock.
I'm waiting on a couple other bands new work coming soon. I don't get a lot of time to listen to stuff unless I'm at the bench.
( and oh, Welcome to Night Vale. I'm late to the party on that but it's some great wild and strange storytelling.)
