Nov. 4th, 2013 04:26 pmI don't know what it is specifically about women's health related doctors in this country but so help me I'm about to start throatpunching a bitch if they keep fucking up my file. Sorry for my language, but HONEST TO FUCKING GOD.
I dropped referral off on Oct. 4. followed up three weeks later to "you dropped it off aug 10, and it takes 2-3 weeks to get a call with a booked date". So..I time travelled and handed in the form, and you tell me you just finished processing all the oct 3-10 forms.
Ok, give em a few weeks. This time it's "it takes 3-4 MONTHS to book, the doc they referred you to is very busy and has the longest wait list."
I asked why, in all good sense would they refer me to the doc with the longest wait list, what sense did that make to pile more work on her presuming everyone else is also reasonably competent, right? They mutter triage and urgency and waiting and I say Honestly? I think they're balking because they think I'm too young to have a tubal and are shoving my file off. Transfer it to someone with a lesser workload, make or female I don't care.
More wafflery, but supposedly a bit of a fire lit. Next to me at the desk was a woman who showed for her 130 appt, having been rescheduled by the office and told now she was a no show for the original 11 am appt and "oops someone didn't change it in the system". It was a race to see who was going to get medieval on their ass first. what a fucked up office.
Canadian health care is great, provided you can get past the utter malicious incompetency that is the desk staff in most cases. godddamm fucking useless sacks of shit, but the doctors are generally good. I am not bothered by the wait, I'd just like someone to get the data right and the story right.
( in vancouver the reproductive medicine group misplaced my file for almost two months because they couldn't seem to process anything. The doc held it for three weeks and the receptionist needed a calendar to book a procedure 15 days from the first of the month. She needed a calendar to figure out exactly what day that was ( um, the 15th.)
If I didn't know better, US insurers and republicans are planting these workers in an attempt to make our healthcare look worse than it really is. I can't even grasp the crushing idiocy that seems to be in action in most medical office receptionists.
I don't like being bitchy, but sometimes it's nessesary.
So lesson learned . 2-3 weeks means 2-3 months. Express post isn't faster. One hour photo prints means 3.5 hours and they'll lose one packet of prints anyway. ( yep.)
