Jan. 21st, 2012 12:35 pmTold R this week that CFI/CASS needs to have a big workshop/talk on how atheists/skeptics advocate in the public realm, mostly on the idea that a few need a clue by four.
I'm fairly anti religion. I see no use for the outdated dronings of old men in funny robes who haven't adapted to the ages as they are now. That people still try to follow a hodgepodge book that ( be it Koran or bible) is chock full o the misogyny and beatings and silly prohibitions ( may as well have said purple socks were verboten for all the logic)...
I have fairly much contempt for the catholic/christians only because I've seen churches spit out the most amoral sorts who seem to think their faith is a free pass till sunday where they tokenly gnash teeth and promise to be better but never are. I say this only because of the number of vocal christians/catholics who have been nothing but lying scum and vile racists who then tell me I'm hellbound. Yahhh. That they also go "BUT without JEEEEBUS how will we know what's right". if its that vague to you, sweetie, there's bigger issues.
So anyway. Genessa. I'm still pretty floored that she's one of those militant atheists. I am but I just would NEVER tell someone they're brainwashed. For fucks sake. I'll rant here but I won't ever shit on someone's faith simply because. She did so, and we're all expecting she's going to finally offend someone who gets her expelled. ( though now I think I see why she's got such a wacky work history...)
Muslims never tried to convert me, ( not in any meaningful attempt) the jews don't care, the buddhists and the hari krishnas don't care. Its only the god-botherers that get in my hair. But Ashley didn't DO anything to invite the wrath of genessa who later then brags to me that she might have convinced Ashley to not wear a Hijab. ( ashley doesn't, but why quibble on details). That she was BRAGGING, and totally misreading the end result...I'm going to probably have to point out how completely off the mark she is. We've ( the rest of class that has been on the recieving end of G) have more or less realized that we have to call her on this bullshit, and that someone, somewhere in G's past profoundly damaged her as a child.
But even as anti theist as I am, what she did to Ashley really bothers me.
Today R's off to the tailor, and I wish i had known it was saturday, he didn't TELL ME the exact date, and would have let me wander off to the studio I suppose. I have no idea what I'd want made and so I guess I get to wait till he comes round again.
Today's song? Poesie Noire: "we'll die dancing".. ( way weird song man.)
