I deleted someone from FB, not specifically related to her, herself, but because I was profoundly uncomfortable with the tone of discussion re bullying and two of them flippantly going "you're mean because you said fuck you" and yet saying I had an "element of condonement" of the abuse for not, oh, knowing at 16 how to rattle the apple cart in a highly conservative province where the admin had said they had no tolerance for bullying and assault.
That they had the nerve for even a moment to say "well, you, at 4 foot barely hitting 5" shoulda fucking DONE more against an assailant that's nearly 3 feet taller and a good 150 pounds more than your 100 lb sopping wet....
Sorry. That shit doesn't rock my world. and more so when the friend in question has also experienced violence and ineffectual police intervention. The nerve of these two to get down with the mansplainin' how I should be avoiding being a victim in the first place, why officer, if she hadn't been wearing that short skirt, how would I have known not to rape her?
To make it just a shade worse, friend did say "maybe you SHOULD take some time away from FB". And I was thinking that but then, hey, easier to just close avenues of which douchenuggets come on through.
The two did apologize, a mealymouthed thing but not after chastising me for being "rude" and "negative and that would give me stomach cancer if I didn't let it go." Yes, because sexual assault and stalking is just such a larf.
Dumbnuts. I'm not angry so much as frustrated at the system that let me down and 20 years later is still letting kids down. Maybe I have to go all fucking hippy secret deepak woochopra and be happy that I nearly got beaten senseless and raped.
Yeah. I'm sorry, lass, you need better friends. And I don't need that shit, so lets just call it square here, and if there's any chance in any realm that I'd cross paths with these two, I just don't need or want it. You can hang with em, but hey YOU should have known better, right?
Oh, if i'd only had their wisdom around at 16. Odds are they'd have done what everyone else did and walked on by.
Armchair advice is so much fun. Call me, sirs, when you're being chased by someone twice your size intent on taking you apart for a laugh and no one comes to your aid. Then we can see how that selfrighteous "you condoned it" line tastes.
Fucktards, the lot of em.
