Fuck the profs if they get snitty over my trip. I'm going. I have a life. get over it. I'll get as much as I can done, and advance work, but since they won't allow extensions or advance notice, well, what the fuck? Do they think I'll fly back mid trip for my work? No.
I seriously didn't expect any extensions but the profound refusal to even grant a bit of leeway is fucking irksome. I'm not even asking for grand special consideration but they will NOT BUDGE A FUCKING INCH.
So fuck em. I'll do what's due before I go, and fuck the rest. I'm not here to work myself to tears and exhaustion for people who can't give a little on their end either.
Of course, its nice that every one else can get a question answered and I get the brush off. I don't know why profs do that to me, but fuck whatever.
And watching Bumbler take a mallet and mandrel to his silver ring, which only needs a few gentle thwaps, he was wailing away on it full force for almost an hour to what end, I don't know. He comes in, wanders through ALL the studios and then sits down, or eyes up MY bench, because he can't parse the lectures or notes or do the self-directed thing.
How he got in is a damn mystery to me.
Anyway. I have soldering to do, two quizzes to study for, a draft of some notes to send, and a stupid little beastly brass rod to file and a drawing to do. I got a metalfinishing assignment dropped ON me, and managed to get that done in the scant hour we had left of the class. There's a distinct issue when your classes run 9-4, but the assignments ask for studio time of 11-15, but its only open 8-6, take out lunch, and you have maybe an hour or two tops each day between lectures and labs, and its just not possible to do the work in that time frame sometimes. When you have multiple projects, its basically clusterfuck time. i wouldn't run a studio that way or tell clients impossible deadlines so I don't know what the fucking goal is aside from this term being a weed-out term I guess.
I like the program but there's some considerable issues going on here. I don't feel terribly supported by my instructors and I'm rather glad of just the 2 yr program, not the 3 at this point. I have the design brain, I only need the technical.
