Sep. 10th, 2011 12:13 amMy classmates amuse. Like I said, we have a plethora of koreans, and a few girls who are but wee slips of girls, who delicately wield the file and saw like its made of spun sugar, and flounce around in perfect manicures, and delicate little skirts and yes, one, with frilly pantaloons underneath.
Not even kidding.
Some things don't require "force" but the delicate-ness of them and the "OH NO MY MANICURE!" sorts amuse. Seriously, in years of chain and metal work i've burned myself, cut myself, I have a ridge of calluses from the pliers, i've had glass enamel pulled from my finger. This is not a workshop for the delicately dressed and delicate of manner.
Especially when we start in on casting and hammering and soldering and enamelling, if people opt for that elective.
I am in love so far with all my classes ( except that stupid computer non credit forced class.) I don't mind spending extra time at my bench. I'm happy in my little world there.
and it just seems to me I've made about the best decision. ( I have a knack for the bad ones, or the seemed like a good idea at the time ones but this one? I'm HAPPY.)
