Its awfully hard to get up and have a snack when the little nose, 4 feet and big muppet eyes wakes from her dead slumber and wants some of my sandwich.

and I just mistook a suitcase for dog. Seriously. BLACK DOG IN THE DARK. I've ordered my backpack out of the kitchen many a time. Or turned to lecture at R's boots for being underfoot when all you see is a flash of lumpy black, one presumes DOG.

Oddly the backpack doesn't listen. Which isn't much different from the dog, really.

If I can't sleep, I might try tackling some dutch. Would infinitely prefer sleep.

Awesome dinner at Biff's Bistro.

It's a nice break from the winter doldrums ( as if one can have doldrums in a city with so much going on).

This place has afforded us opportunity beyond what we could have dreamed. Financially, socially, work and life wise. Some of it's just sheer luck, but we never could have afforded memberships to museums or galleries in vancouver ( not to mention they were relatively static and travelling exhibits seemed to be mostly emily carr retrospectives every other year.Maybe I'm exaggerating, but yeah.)

Thing is, IT here PAYS so well, and it doesn't do what vancouver did, eat up more and more time, ( aside from the few stints on the pager here where stuff went wayward) but the benefits! the bonuses ( 10k for r this year) and the freaking wage increases, which we never ever saw in Vancouver or halifax, EVER.

( seriously if you're curious about work here, I believe R's dept has spots open, and RIM isn't too shabby either)

I dunno. Even if we had R's salary in Vancouver, we'd be on a much tighter budget, we'd certainly miss the size of this city.

I cannot imagine living anywhere else now in canada, and I certainly would never have thought so living in Vancouver.

( PS: a house in missisauga or etobicoke still can be had for 200-300k. A condo downtown for the same, or less. Not a shoebox, either, a condo that is actually normal sized. Just a hint.We could actually look at buying. Had we not had the travel-splosion, and all else, we would be!)

Anyway. Yeah.

( I do not love the "salmon run" rush hour at union station as commuters throng through to the G0trains, that can suck, but I should have known better. Oops.)
