seen more than a few people state that the arizona shooter was just an angry, delusional, mentally ill man, and that nothing would have prevented it, and then they throw in a dig at healthcare reform and blah blah government..

Gee. You don't think maybe some marginally more stringent gun laws to protect people would be an idea, or perhaps had there been some kind of mental health access that this guy could have recieved, because cutting people adrift is just SUCH a money saver now?

Seems to me the long term plan is for the right to tone down their if not by ballot, by bullet! rhetoric, and for people to fucking GROK what healthcare access in the US is like: fucking piss poor if you're marginalized/poor, and that there's no shortage of people who are willing to slit a neighbor's throat if it saves them a pittance in tax.

Worse yet, will be the medical costs saddled on the victims. Awesome system in play.

A quick afternoon with Butterbee and some of her friends, coffee, a quick browse thru kensington market.

Good company. Lots of army surplus there, kid size gas masks! Dutch military bags!

they headed off to a geek lab place and we browsed a huge market shop, where I found a gorgeous sea-blue scarf and a hot pink travel wallet.

Burritos, then home. Going to slarp down some coffee and have a nap, my sinuses seem to finally be entering the dry-out-heal phase which is vaguely uncomfortable, and later i'll work on a custom order and some design sketches, maybe start some waxes. i could probably tack them into the portfolio, ( and hope I get it back!?)

Meeting so many new people in this city, it's pretty awesome. We KNOW people. a year and a half here and already we know probably as many folk as we did in Van, and a vast more than halifax.

I might try to get to the gym tonight too. Start stepping up the workouts a bit more.

But for now, a lazy sunday. R's off to a movie later, so I'll have the place to myself to work.

We've been working more with Sera to teach her some better city-walking habits. She can't be loping all over hither and yon, lunging at pigeons, jumping up to say hi! ( r taught her it was OK, and I've been trying since to get it OUT of her head), and just HEEL, and WALK and SIT and STAY FUCKING SITTING.

These are not horrible commands, she gets played with and fed and she's allowed to be a dog but MANNERS, puppy.

But she's good for 8 milliseconds sometimes, and then blammo, she cannot stay sitting, her feet go one way, her brain another and she utterly forgets to heel. Stop. Reprimand. Correct. Over and over and over and over.

Like every walk we have to re train her.

Some walks she's very good, ( short walks because oh holy carp its cold for me and wee dog feets)and people have complimented us on how very well under control she is. this is important to me as an owner in a building, I don't want her to be "THAT DOG".

But lord love a duck, she cannot just FOCUS, for a minute some days.

I might have to invest in a different leash, because we're NOT getting the message across. Off leash in the hall, however, she HEELS like a champion. on leash? Her brain wanders off without her.

When it starts warming up we'll do longer walks again, and hopefully try to break her doggy brain a smidge. Has to be done. Walking her is pleasant when she's not pestering everyone.

Upside, her gregariousness is apparently confidence instilled by owners, she's not the least bit afraid of anyone, and greets everyone happily but she does need to learn some social skills in some regards, she's like that dorky kid who blusters in, trips, knocks over a desk and then eats your lunch.

She kinda needs to learn to be the cool kid.
