I gotta give some mega credit to R lately for being insanely patient and caring and awesome while my headache fun is going on.

I worry, tho. what if they can't surgically "clean things up" before travel? Its a 1-3 week recovery period, though one could well argue lounging poolside in Tel Aviv is perfectly recovery time....:D

Once we're back, its another 3 weeks to amsterdam. After that, a short window to travel to china. So this either has to get done NOW, or I have to be extra vigilant and we need to find a chemical way to manage the sinus pressure that keeps building. ( I hate the sinus sprays, they're FOUL, but if that's to be it, then ok, I can cope. I'm an adult.)

I sort of would like to re wind time and skip the ridiculousness that was the Mt Sinai doc trying antibiotics, because that was a waste! ( no infection, dude.)

Sigh. I've just never had a round of this so utterly stubborn. Just luck, i suppose.

And here it is, 430 am, and I need sleep. I totally blew the diet today, because dammit, if you're gonna, go BIG or go home. But tomorrow after my appt I'll go over to old navy, they have a sale on fitness wear, and I still have this abysmally small wardrobe compared to R.

Amused that the likelihood of transit and garbage and service cuts to suburbs is more and more likely since Ford's run rampant, or inspite of him, or who knows, but they voted the turkey in, and so much the better i guess if they get the hose by their own hand?

I don't have any real ISSUE with suburbanites, i'm sure most are quite charming and loverly but the outliers who voted ford as a way to stick it to downtown? The problems are of your own making. There's finite capacity for cars no matter how you want to slice it, and removing bike lanes won't help you, but you won't give up curbside parking.

Its baffling to hear people howl they're being over taxed, when especially in some parts of North America, we're SO low taxed that our infrastructure and society cannot function, but people demand it. No one wants to work for a 20k salary, but we expect our city officials and services to do it. I find that the height of arrogance.

Along with people who whine that a business charges a fair market price for an item or service that the yokel will deem "he's just in it to make money". Uh, dude, you'd do the same. Restaurants are not there to feed you at a loss. As an aside, we're going to pick some dining options for winterlicious, and it astounds me how many people don't grasp that prixe fixe doesn't mean they're entitled to be fed till they vomit. Its art. Its FOOD. Its not three big macs. ( I love prixe fix! I hate massive restaurant portions, I want to sample more dishes, not eat till I explode.)

I curse canada post for a lack of shipping options, namely paying for tracking that they never fucking USE, so I don't pay it. 15 bucks for tracking on a package that they can't ever master the art of scanning it in? I have one expedited that's not been seen in days. It should have scanned at some point. Grar. need my jewelery supplies.

Looking at my travel options for the netherlands. a month to month pass is possible, and it should give me range of much of the country. That, a camera, and a cheap sandwich from the station and a coffee and I'm pretty much set. :D Looking forward to doing some serious cycling. As in dutch style, not the spandex speed jockey stuff. Might even bring a bike back. Like anyone would MISS one of the some 30 in the garage there?

Should see if I can talk Oude Chris into it. Probably could.

I haven't practiced much, but i find myself able to think to myself in dutch,( what i'm doing, where I'm going, asking questions, what I want) so there's that. Its in my head.

more adventures of me,

went back to the clinic, and reluctantly the fill in doc gave me an extension on the predisone at a half dose. After the requisite lecture of "how bad it is....." yes. Bloody fucking brightly utterly fucking aware. Been there. DONE THAT. KNOW THAT. Sigh.....

Upside now that I can use a steroidal sinus spray and the inflammation is going down, I'm hopeful this stepdown dose will work and i can just use the snorty drug for relief till surgery time. She seems to think the surgical consult is actually a surgery booking on the 24th. le sigh. I wish. Surprise SURGERY!!!!

Anyway feeling somewhat much less like I've been smashed in the face repeatedly.

Have a follow up with my reg doc, who, while was distant at first, I quite like that he doesn't treat me like a moron, and the staff are decent. The receptionist said they do travel medical consults for around $50 ( which I think our insurance would cover anyway) to go over any needed vaccines, and concerns, so that's probably a worthwhile thing to do for china, because that one's a bunch of unknowns.

Hit eaton center, got a sports jogging top with a bra, that can actually double as a swim top too, and will go well with the skirted bottom I have. ( love it. ass not hangin OUT.)

A separate cotton tank, and a t shirt, and a pair of yoga pants, then off to another store for a helluva bargain of 5 knickers ten bucks ( perhaps shall go back), and then sears, where I nearly cleaned them out of basic black sport socks that I like and can never find, and 4 pairs of knee highs to wear with my docs.

So I do still need something for the wedding, and some new pants, but finally getting something resembling the wardrobe of an adult subtle-goth jeweler world traveler.

( I am over hesitating on embellished shirts now. Dunno why I avoided it for so long.)

Lost an inch off my waist already. So I suspect what's up is the muscle pile on, before the flubber drops, as is usual weight loss pattern for me. the arms shrink, the legs shrink, the belly follows later. Go ME.

However, tonight its friday, and R's off movie-ing, so I shall go fetch a nice low fat latte and something for dinner.

My ring order is in, and I have necklaces to finish and an earring wire tool to play with and make some nio earwires!!! Supplier sent me a jump ring opening "ring' for my finger but not sure if it's any use. Might try. Might modify and make a "fashiony" one.

Next week: finish up college app and portfolio stuff, get eyes checked, order sunglasses. Find pants. Seriously R has so much more in the wardrobe dept than me, fortunately he has no issue with me buying clothes, I think he might actually want me to buy more. I just loathe shopping at eaton center because its SO FREAKING WARM in there.
