Roachy Towers is Getting the Smackdown
Feb. 6th, 2010 12:15 pmWe just got a notice from the City that a mobile inspection unit is coming in to speak to tenants and inpsect common areas.
In the 6m we've lived here, elevators have died, the water pipes burst, the laundry room leaks and half the facilities are unusable. Call for repairs to your unit? They'll look but they don't ever actually DO anything.
So that does explain the carpet cleaning and the pipe maintenance, but I suspect people have hit their breaking point over the nonfixing of suite issues and such and we can bring a form down when they're on site and ask for an inspection by the city.
Where to start...the lack of weatherstripping on the balcony door so it leaks into the suite when it rains? the giant hole in the bathroom wall that we taped over so critters cant get in, the kitchen cabinets which don't really "work", because they've been slapped over with so much marshmallow fluff latex?
We are moving, for sure. This was only ever a temporary crashpad. But they do need to get on the maintenance. ( tho given how many suites and how many buildings, I don't know if ALL the buildings are having the same issues..) they're reaping the results of ignoring and doing slapdash repairs for at least a decade.
