We're now waiting till it cools down, and the elevators aren't in such demand, so we can empty some garbage and excess boxes.

Well, that plan is a bust. People have put 3 of 4 elevators on "service" so that they can hold them at their floor. Only one is running, and while I could go chase down another and flip the service switch, bleh.

Dumbasses. Utter dumbasses.

Still, we did get a good chunk of work tackled today, 4 loads laundry, the bedroom is mostly packed, the bathroom is almost finished being cleaned, and a lot of old boxes and garbage out. I have errands to run tomorrow, both at opposite ends of downtown, sweet!

finish desk and kitchen packing and that's pretty much it. Do some quick mop/wipedown/cleaning and comb/vaccuum the carpets and we're done done done.

Got most of desk packed/sorted.

This is major. Now we're down to the maddening dribbles of stuff to pack, and the relative challenge of getting garbage out, since it seems in a building of 21 floors, we only can have one working fricking elevator.

I still have around 15 pounds in british currency and enough euros to cover any pay loo needs on the next trip. I'm hoping to set aside something after dragoncon to get us tickets to London or Amsterdam. ( or something like. Fly in to amsterdam and out of london, perhaps?)

Today: pack kitchen, desk, finish packing bedroom and bathroom stuff.

Go to chris the silversmiths to pick up pendant molds and to dal to get the balance due and change addresses.

Mail a hacky sack.

Finish scrubbing bathroom, kitchen.

Garbage and recyc as usual. Never ending.

Balcony needs to be washed.

Worse yet, when people are using that ONE elevator to go between 2 floors.

I have abandoned the idea that I'll manage to catch fedex. I left them a note with our door buzzer on it and all that accomplished is some lazywanker trying to get us to buzz him in.

courier was PISSED off. Mostly I think, because we called in yesterday to bitch, and uh, because the elevators are severely still fucked. Out of 4, only the two center ones are in operation, and one of those only sporadically at best.

There's gotta be at least 1000 people in this building so you can just imagine, it's almost as bad as dragoncon, except, well, not as much fun.

Post guy admitted to me today that Expedited/express, infact, isn't really expedited at all.

No shocker, I said. Every time I ship with those, things invariably get lost or delayed horribly. It's worse than regular service and it costs 3x as much.
