Oct. 5th, 2013 12:28 pmA friend arrived last night in TO for a few days, not specifically JUST to see us, but months ago it was discussed that we'd meet up while she was in town.
This being a vancouver girl, I'm sorry, I think we've been hit with another incident of "vancouver flake" where people just seem to not make any concrete plans, or contact/communicate what plans they do have, preferring to drift where the travel tides take them. I loathed it when I lived in Vancouver, no one seems to MAKE PLANS and STICK TO EM. Work with me here....
Drama boy was the victim of this when people visited from Van and stood him up for brunch, and contacted him hours later saying simply "we had a better offer...". We organized more than a few parties in van and had people RSVP and then never showed, including an infamous christmas gathering where 10 people said yep! and none showed.
I'm making plans with the other former vancouverite, now in TO because that's how we roll at least. I'll be happy to meet up with the out of towner but I'm just a bit frustrated that plans never get made or stuck to. We have the bug now, and logistics mean we'd like to have him fed and sorted before we go, so plans on the fly are a bit more challenging.
we're headed to calgary in december and already trying to shape up a schedule of sorts. I mean, it just makes sense, right?
(randomly: r got me a dr who shirt on thinkgeek but despite it being labelled LARGE, it's one of the smallest shirts I've ever owned WTF. I might take the front image, bluescale tardises making up the british flag, and sew it to a larger shirt. seriously, it's a large in maybe Teen girl. Prepubescent perhaps. Its really small for a large.)
