Sep. 5th, 2013 10:34 pmMy mom arrived last week to watch Stirling while we went to Atlanta, and she's just smitten with her new grandson, as would be expected. They had a great time together sightseeing and walking around the city, doing shopping. Mom cleaned my apartment like whoa. Much needed. She said she wished she could have come out after the c section to help out.
while we were gone, the wee bug developed thrush in his mouth and lo, all the walk in clinics and our doc's office were closed for the long weekend so off to Sick Kids Hospital a few blocks away and they treated him just wonderfully, as we'd expect from basically the best kids hospital in canada. He's got some bitter tasting medicine now, and the scrunchy face he makes when we dose him is sadly, kind of hilarious.
Mom and I went shopping for some clothes for him because he's outgrown stuff like mad. The usual epically cute stuff was bought.
dragoncon was a nice brief break from babyjuggling, though the trek to get our luggage in atlanta and get to the hotel left me pretty floored and hurty, since no longer are we a domestic pre cleared flight, but way over in international, a detail Delta somehow neglected to point out.
This year con went by so fast, and I wish I'd more energy to be social till the wee hours but hey. I saw people.
My sales were fucking SHIT though. We made the table back and hotel cost and that's it, brutal. I checked my table on thurs and I am not entirely sure that we didn't get shifted down the aisle by people sneaking an extra foot or two of space, and I was in front of the fire exit, which the marshals were "OH NO." and so we got downsized and relocated to and end of row and with all the dealer hall changes it was I guess a growing pain year.
saw half the abney park show, and the last bit of Prof. elemental's, got his cd, and got to two panels.
Missed the bug terribly too. Kinda get used to having the wee thing around, funny that.
Registered for my one class I need to take this term.
Onward.
