Jul. 23rd, 2012 02:04 pmThis whole debacle has made me realize many of my fellow citizens aren't just easy going, they verge on milquetoasty little happy go lucky gollygeeshucks! sorts. Its a goddamn wonder we ever effected change here because man, passive.
Twitch. Time to get a decibel meter, and start asking questions. in the meanttime, tacking up some foam outta take the sting off that alarm. Its a tiny suite, it's overkill to be so loud. It drives me insane that rules are applied with zero thought.
halifax: we had to have window blocks on ALL the windows. "in case someone decides to jump." I said "You realize we have a balcony, right?" Ditto here. A window lock preventing your half arsed leap from the bedroom window to the balcony.
Its these well meaning but hambrained implementation of safety regs that just floors me. You can have a good audible alarm, or if you want the painmaster 59000, then find a way to test it so people aren't being tortured. ( clearly they can find the issue sans testing!)
I'm a tad irked that 2 hrs in on the third day, R disconnected it.
And i have to get dog some anxiety meds because she's again, fu-reaked. She's been pissing and shitting on the balcony, and cowering next to me every time they fiddle with alarms.
AT LEAST the monthly test is a one blat sounding, it used to go on all day. Every other month, I think would be more than sufficient. Hell, three x a year. monthly seems over the top. Am I crazy?
