First day of term 2. I'm being uber organized, and nothing should sneak up deadline wise. Its a busy term for goldsmithing. Some surprising faces in the class, people who didn't submit the last two major projects in anything near completion, and one girl who apparently used a portfolio of photos of her cat, to be accepted to the third yr program. Alrighty then.

Went downtown to get drill bits as all mine went walkabouts, and some 22g sheet metal in copper and brass. Most of that's bound for dcon merch, you lucky freaks.

History of jewelery class looks like a low key thing, shouldn't be too stressful. He also teaches casting.

I spent most of my between class break waiting in line at the registrars to be told that only ONE person is data entering course exemptions but that mine should go through. Without that and the idiotic filler courses, and not doing the 3 yr program's stuff, ( they get "color theory" which I learned way back in ye old high school), and design course, my courseload looks somewhat manageable.

Got new MAC face powder and on a whim, a new eyeshadow. ( well one I had way back when and a makeup artist at my wedding ruined the pressed pot of shadow by breaking it all up, and so I had to eventually throw it out. Its a gorgeous pinky-purply silvery fishyscale shade. Who shatters up a pressed eyeshadow, honestly?

Dinner with R, and my nano ipod is on the way to be returned as a NEW nano thanks to the recall, and that can be used at the studio so I can work.

Song for today: Girls Under Glass: minddiver. (I find the band's name rather awesome.)Another book that really fits the marathon editing sessions. I can see where my somewhat empathic vamp would like this one.

yargh. Of course on the day I have the most EPIC of allergy sneezefits, its the one where I have to be at campus at 8 am. with a fucking 4 hour break between classes. Seriously WHAT THE SHIT.

Today went ok, aside from G. She's SO freaking desperate for validation like no one has ever said "good job" to her in her life. She nitpicks the prof and tries to show off her "extra" knowledge, ( sweetie, half of us have iphones and can hit wikipedia just as well as you, so sit the fuck down)

And N, the nice but OH SO passive-aggressive and plays it cute, seriously. STand UP STRAIGHT. Act like an adult. Quit trying to be "tee hee I'm cute and pleading". She's the one I have no idea how she managed to get into goldsmithing 2.

The cat portfolio is just odd. I have no words.

So tuesday: a lecture, a 4 hour work session and lunch, and something in the afternoon. If I'm smart, I can get a jump on the rivets assignment due two weeks from now, and keep the deck cleared for whatever we get next week. So long as I do that, this term should roll smooth. But then, I was one of the few who actually came in on weekends and during self directed studies time, and they were saying that if you don't at least do the SDS, you're pretty much boned.

i just loathe the first week of a term where we have to go over the fucking syllabus.

Worst: tuesday is metalfinishing and M the prof, the older woman is just as annoying as my grandmother and if it were any other class I'd call in sick because hello, 3 hrs sleep? If tomorrow afternoon's a work time, I'm not staying late, just on that alone. I have no idea why the random allergy blast but the timing could not be worse.

G helpfully lectured me to "don't start book two till summer." bitch, STFU. You're the one running off, not just to study, you have to become an overnight authority. And BTW we know you're lying about the volunteering you said you did over break. I did agree to be her partner for a project in history because AT LEAST, AT VERY LEAST, she's fucking reliable about getting done what she says.

The tech drawing prof was back to her old scatterbrain ways, and I was "oh fuck. here we go again."

but we lost at least 6-10 over the break. so out of 70 i'd wager we're down to 50 now.
