Laundry done, groceries purchased. The hotplate stove thingy here does not work so it's sandwiches! and the fridge is in the garage, because the house is in dire need of work!

But hey. Its free accom.

reading someone who has been going off on how entitled those entitled benefits people are, and I was "do you know what it takes to get off welfare? has it occured to you that places aren't even bothering to interview unless you have a job? or that there's more people than jobs?"

Sigh. I am hard pressed to explain the US to people here. Its unfathomable that a country would make war and profit a bigger concern than citizen welfare, but there you go.

Gonna go take a break, then work on some verb tenses stuff because that and vocabulary are kicking my hind end, speaking wise. Learning a new language is tough, and I have even more respect for newcomers to canada, it has to be bewildering and frustrating. Like grocery shopping or operating a washing machine. YOU try it in a language you're new to.

( of course it still doesn't explain the St Jamestown thing of why there was soap in the dryers all the time?)

I'm as fluent as people who've lived here for 4 years and nederlands is their second language. I will probably go for the NT2 level as my fam have dropped brick size hints that we should move here!
