nicosian: (world in my hands)
Went out today and got cute mary jane sneaker shoes for my travels: easy to deal with at airport security, more comfy than boots for hotter climates, and still dressy looking. Got wee sock liner things so the feet don't blister all to heck either.

( actually quite love em.)

A new swimsuit top, since the one i have is a beast to get in and out of due to wacky underwires, and a pair of lightweight grey cargo-khakis that i can roll up to capri length.

Did another whackload of studying tonight too. On and on and on.

R's sick with some gastro-bug that I've been trying to avoid, as gutbugs are so insanely contagious. My shoulder is JUST NOT recovering, and if it's still bad monday, I'll go to the doctor. Muscle relaxants, stretching, heat, no relief at all.

We may have to postpone the china trip since Cathay has mad blackout dates ( basically june to September!) augh.

Ah well. Its a free trip. can't complain.

Still need a skirt, old navy, i guess.

Emailed to book my phone assessment for dutch class, so friday, I think I'll finish pre trip shopping. I am getting into something of a habit of actually BUYING clothes. Suddenly don't think it's so crazy to be buying 100 a month, since I for so long only buy clothes at the very last moment when things are in tatters. Seriously....up for retirement this winter is my manky faux-wool peacoat, and some pants.

Anyway. took two muscle relaxants and hopefully that starts unknotting the muscle.

May well partake of some kind of spa stuff in Israel. Why not?

So mission: skirt: a failure. couldn't find anything that didn't make me look dumpy. so we'll go without. Losing weight in the legs, and arms, but belly, oh BELLY.

Still most I've walked in a week, and tried cold instead of heat which seem to be offering more relief than i'd have guessed. Will pick up cold gel pack thing at the pharmacy and use that.

Got a couple shirts, a lightweight plaid long sleeve and a funky bright pink polo with argyle. I have SO much black in the wardrobe, I'm getting into pink and grey, and oranges too now.

And..a travel day pack. My mec sling bag is not museum friendly. My NOOD bag is too pickpocket friendly. SOOO....got a green "heys" travelmate ( made of recycled bottles) in a pretty sagey-pistachio green. ( would have preferred blue or orange or even black but red or green, that's the choice.

Taking a break from dutch study for a night, looks like I'll do the assessment after israel, and its like a 10 minute call. I can do this. And I was thinking in english, but writing in dutch last night, automatic. maybe not 100% correct, but yeah. Something's stickin in the brain meats.

Pretty much ready for travel. if I need skirt or scarf or hat, I can get them at the destination.
