nicosian: (feet!)
Yesterday we went to the Toronto Comic Art Fair, which was at the massive Toronto Reference Library. ( and uh, yay free wireless at the library! how awesome, and easy to connect)

Got a gorgeous koi print in oranges and blues, and we got some clever little books, and some haha, comic books, even, and I picked up a copy of Gaiman's Stardust which was lavishly illustrated.

Alas the illustrator was kind of a toad. I'd inadvertently cut the line, being unaware there WAS a line, as there hadn't been one, nor illustrator, when we passed the table earlier. He got rather snotty over that despite my profuse apology. So it's signed, because hey it's your work but dude.....sigh.

Stopped at Veda, an indian place for some damngood curries for cheap. And lo, a windstorm of gale force winds had blown in, and hoarding was down, and pylons skittering across the road, and insulation every where. You'd hear a gust coming down bloor st and a few times i took cover, as sandwich boards also shimmied for cover ( no really, it looked like one was trying to get inside the shop it belonged to. I ducked into an alcove only to find another refugee from the storm, laughing.

I had grit in my hair till the next day.

We got all the new guest bedding washed and the spare room restored to order and lo that was a mess. The kitchen is mostly clean. Handily, we have no laundry or running water Monday. Awesome. Fuck!

I am very glad for my new raincoat. Yep.

And decided today was Happy Unmothers Day for me. Well, whatever. I still don't believe we'll ever have any luck, to be utterly honest. It was however charming to see a woman with her mother, and her child, bickering at each other, puffing away on cigs. The grandma gave me a look that I could only describe as puggish. It drives a wee nail in my heart, why these people and not us? Bleh. Surely you could pretend to act like a mature human being for the sake of your child instead of a pair of petulant porcine faced fools.

Got some hibiscus seeds and a funky flowering vine seed and a potted strawberry plant. My last lovingly tended hibiscus plant got knicked off the balcony in vancouver and damned if people can do that this time!

tues, meet mog at the airport, and monday ish my ring order arrives as well.
