Nov. 18th, 2009 08:23 pmGot up, walked dog, then headed over to the nearby walkin clinic. Ah hell, there's like 12 people in there. (in halifax this would mean "you never get seen, sucka") but they were fairly quick and after 2 hours I was in.
Got scripts for refills, a "come back and we'll refer you to an ENT if you like for sinus surgery again, (family genetics, how I love thee) and hey, want a seasonal flu shot too? You have your H1N1? YAY!"
So i'm feeling a little less clobbered and in a day or so, should be fairly perky, i think.
The only real snafu was the pharmacist at shoppers ( oh why am I NOT surprised) who couldn't get my data for insurance up, so I went to another and bippity, there it was, my prescriptions, cheapsies.
My jaw is still rather puffy, alarmingly so. If that doesn't go down in a day or two, I'll call the dentist. ( i've never had that level of swelling from dental work before.)
I think now a shower, and some rest is on order. Maybe do another couple christmas tree earrings, and some knitting. ANy study is off due to advanced brain haze.
But if anyone sings the woes of canadian health care? lemme tell ya, it rocks. No government agent or insurer roadblocked me at any step. It was quick, it was what I needed, and more.
Tell that to your friends who are afraid of single payer/universal. Ours works because we don't feel the hell bent need to insert a fucking raftload of paperpushers in between you and the service you need. ( I love you americans but it seems your higherups like to needlessly complicate matters.)
