Nov. 2nd, 2009 11:59 pmsweet. dutch level 1 is offered in Jan, so I'll be mowing through levels 1-4 from U of T almost back to back if I luck out.
Got my H1N1 shot today. Showed up at around noonish, the clinic opened at 1, I was done by 2. There must have been at least 2500 people in line, that I saw.
It was relatively painless, the shot, and the line up. Aside from a very aggro security guard. Scary tho, that so many places don't have it, won't have it, ran out. I guess that means uptake was higher than the anti vax screamers would have, but my mom's office has several people out, one hospitalized. Glad I got mine. I think it might shape up to be a mean one.
Aside from a really SORE arm, I feel fine. I remember shots stinging like all fuckout as a kid but I guess they took the stinging ow ow component out, I barely felt this.
Anyway, good thing I've got it since it's kind of iffy that many people who want it will get it any time soon. Some of the delay here is that they had to add a production run of un adjuvanted, not just for pregnant women, tho they were lining up for this one anyway, but partly to appease the thimerosol wackjobs.
There was one rather abrupt allergic reaction here, they had her lie down, monitored her, fed her some benadryl, and took her to the hospital but she was lucid at least. Alll in all a very mild reaction.
it feels nice to not be a walking target for that bug.
R found a patisserie selling french macarons, yum, I have two blueberry ones on my desk now. Yum yum.
Our houseguest is back in Montreal to pack up his stuff and cat. It was a hectic but good weekend. Mostly the next few days I'm just gonna veg because I've done SO much running all over that I'm like, due for veg time.
http://www.aechocolatier.com/index.html this is near my home. A dangerous thing indeed.
