May. 11th, 2009 03:13 pmYay. almost 8 hours of sleep. In a 5, then 3 hour block.
It's oddly roasty in my apartment, I suspect some people still have the heat cranked on their suites. Apparently being in europe for 2 weeks where NOTHING had indoor heating has completely reset my body temperature control! hah. Ok, we almost froze in our sleep in Nijmegen, and Cardiff hostel was a tad chilly. Got oddly used to it. Maybe it's the two years of sitting in Dal's unheated classrooms. ( brr.)
Was doing some more research on Wales, and I find more things I'm completely smitten by, every time. While we were there, I read somewhere that during the spring/summer months, the Brecon national park has hiking/biking trails, and lo, even a transit service to take you and your bike to the trailhead, and pickup at the end. Such wonders. ( here, transit runs to about 3k shy of the local nearest beach, and then only 2x a day.
Cliff diving! scuba! biking! hiking! It really does seem like a Vancouver-pre-expo madness.
There is some vague talk of Montreal for one job, but since french flummoxes me, ( I picked up dutch faster) I don't know if I want to relocate to Montreal. It's not high on our list for the language issues alone.
( Dutch in some ways is an unholy mash of German and english, so it's not so bad. It'd be interesting to spend a few weeks there and see how much I really learned.)
Today on the get things done menu:
take out some more garbage/excess books, dead microwave
finish a necklace or two, a hacky or two, and do some keychain stars/stretchy bracelets, and make up an order sheet for starz, and maybe a potential one for some sterling/goldfill/nio. research some display ideas.Test out the backdrop thing R bought, if it's sturdy, we could use it for vertical display.
