Mar. 31st, 2009 04:41 ammy patience for some things is at a very thin thread right now. I have way too much going on, and going wrong, to be putting up with such bullshit from angles that I don't recall asking to have bullshit thrown at me.
Proof, I guess, that the road to hell is truly paved with good intentions.
This Dcon, I'm getting fucking wasted with the scientists at the Mad Scientists Ball. I hear there's also an event at the GA for Dcon too. I may hang up the fairy wings because it's just getting too stressful. I work all thru Dcon as it is.
That said, anyone who helps at my booth? I'll bribe well. I got stuck down in the dungeons last year, ALL day and that was no fun. Will bribe/pay/reward accordingly for a bit of booth assistance.
Clarify: alone in the vendor dungeon no breaks: no fun. When there were people? fun. You get to see costumes and talk to people.

Mar. 31st, 2009 05:01 amwork hired a guy for graveyard shift but turns out he can't DO the duties OF graveyard. ( or retail) ala standing on his feet all day. His response: i have arthritis in my hips and I thought my references would tell you that.

Anyway. Odds are once I'm done classes, I will be the graveyard girl again, most likely.

Mar. 31st, 2009 11:13 pmA few replies have left me feeling like there's some solidarity behind a current issue going on. I'm kind of laughing, what if all the veteran folk just said "no."? The mayhem would be rather delicious.
Anyway. Dcon this year is so far, looking good. There's an event at the GA ( AWESOME!) and hopefully mad scientists ball too. This year, I hope to catch some panels, ( only got to 2 last year, boo) and we've made plans to have a massively stocked booth, I'll need extra hands and I will certainly make it worth the time. Oh, believe me. ( becca, got the reply to another post, awesome.)
I'm so jazzed that the new dentist does direct billing. Tooth aches because when they did the x ray, the first time, I bit down on the plate using the baaaad tooth, "crunch!" ow! and lo, it turned out blank. So try number 2, in which he was "hey, we could pull it today but we're running short of time for appts, so how's about tomorrow? Since I have a stupid long day of classes/work, thursday, the pesky tooth will be pulled.
Poor assistant manager at work is pulling 12 hour days too. Can't seem to find people who want to work. Loudmouth got sacked because of her inappropriate commentary on customer purchases "oh, that's dinner, it looks unhealthy but so good." Nooooooo. Baad clerk.
If they ASK for input, sure, if not, do not give it. Someone asked me about some cosmetics, a brand I saw in london and bought some of and what i purchased seemed really good. She went with it. ( really pretty pigment powders for around $10, and now I'm thinking hey, with my discount.....) we carry a lot of UK brands.
